Here I am, Here I am....

Okay (imagine me kicking the ground and looking completely remorseful but naughty) I seriously don't have a great excuse for not blogging or at least posting a link or two for over a month.

Confession, I haven't so much as glanced at the pile of momento's unless you count the passing sneer I give the boxes when I vacuum. I can throw out alot of excuses about how summer was ending so we had to wrap up summertime activities, or the back to school rush that overtakes me in early August, or C's ninth birthday festivities, or the King starting Kindergarten, or the many conflicting thoughts of little A monkey's journey. I promise, I do plan on conquering my personal Mount Everest before our move to the new abode and will post periodic updates.

Speaking of our future homestead. They have broke ground. Yep, we have a hole in the ground with a huge hill of dirt. The offspring love it. They call it Kid Mountain and are convinced it should stay. Before I could dissuade that notion B (dh) informed me that he increased his garage out back by 4 extra feet. No. Before you ask, that didn't go over as smoothly as he had hoped.

Let me explain, in our personal Shangrila we have 2 garages. The attached garage is for me, the kids, their outside stuff and the car. So I can actually park in a garage. A completely foreign and novel idea to me. You would understand if you knew my dad and B (dh). Than the second one is dh's garage that is supposed to sit unobtrusively (well as much as a huge structure can be unobtrusive) in our backyard. A welcome addition for all of B's toy's. Giving him a chance to work on hot rod's and have a fun place to hang out. The idea is still there but the extra 4 feet is encroaching on my and the kids's other visions. Like space in the backyard to actually play.

I haven't decided if the extra 4 feet truly is something of a problem yet. Probably because I can't envision it. So we shall see...

Hi all...

I started this blog on a whim. Hence the name Notion's and Novelties.

I started this blog because we are trying to organize and decorate our home on an extreme budget. I thought it might be fun to have a record of the transformation.
